Tobacco Cigarette Etc.

            408th BLOG -->>

        Whenever I see my father chewing tobacco, I start thinking of the bad cases which are caused because of chewing tobaccos and smoking. My father don't smoke cigarette or hukkah but he chews tobacco. I feel very sad for him and I and mummy poke him every time he gets ready with tobacco in his hand. I have seen videos on television and some dangerous pictures and images on Internet where the consumers of tobacco and cigarette are suffering from various diseases which cannot be treated. I just can't digest the fact that my father can suffer such type of disease if he continues his affair with tobacco. I don't know how to attack his mind and in what words should I explain him that he stop chewing tobacco.

             Recently, I went to Bandra with my friend - Yusuf. He wanted to take some homeopathic medicines for his father. His father was suffering with back and body pain. I have met uncle and he is quite genuine so even I was worried for his health and I was hoping that the Doctor mam who know uncle from his young age will understand the problem and hand us the germane dose. While interrogating to Uncle on telephonic call, she asked all types of questions related to the problem. After the call ended, Yusuf told her,"Mam, everything is fine whatever he has answered you but the main cause of worry is his love for Paan and Tobacco". I was shocked that even Uncle loves Paan, tobacco etc. The Lady Doctor wrote all the Do and Don't for next one month and at the top of Report, she specially wrote, NO PAAN, TOBACCO FOR LIFETIME. It was funny at that time because Yusuf did it purposely to save his father's future like a small kid but it was a right thing to do at that time. Every son and daughter in this world will have to take the stand if they want their father to leave tobacco and live a great life ahead.

               My grandfather used to smoke cigarette a lot and it resulted in failure of both his kidneys. I remember his last days in hospital where all his body was covered with pipes and weird tubes and there was no part of his body which he could use by himself. All the four sons were with him taking care of their father. All the sons kept their job at risk and came to save their father. At last, grandpa lost his life and my father lost his job. All the scenario would not have happened if my grandpa would not have addicted himself to cigarette. After the death of his father, my father started chewing more tobaccos and lost his control over himself. Whenever I used to talk to my father, I used to see that he has pressed some tobaccos between his teeth. Whenever I asked him to boycott tobaccos, he used to reply that do I ask you to stop sitting on Internet or waste your time sending SMSes to your friends? You do your work and let me do mine. I am the one who is going to feed you till you don't stand on your legs, either by chewing tobacco or without chewing it. What can a son say after this? I used to remain quiet after that without giving any more clarification and without forcing him anymore. But still, I used to try my luck every 15 days and I used to get the same answer.

             Even today my father chew tobacco and I am at least happy to see that he intakes it in very less quantity. On 31st May, 2011, the world celebrates No-Tobacco Day and I hope many people learn something from the theme and stop consuming tobaccos available in any form. Now-a-days, even youngsters smoke cigarettes in large quantity and chew tobacco continuously. They should stop the activity immediately before any disease traps them. I wish the best of luck to everyone for your attempt of wiping up your addiction of chewing tobacco and smoking cigarette. May God Bless you all.

             By the way, Happy Belated No-Tobacco Day to all.

          Thanks.

(World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on May 31. It is meant to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption across the globe. The day is further intended to draw global attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects, which currently lead to 5.4 million deaths worldwide annually. The member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) created World No Tobacco Day in 1987. In the past twenty years, the day has been met with both enthusiasm and resistance across the globe from governments, public health organizations, smokers, growers, and the tobacco industry.)

Good point, it can't be worse then the cigarettes, but this is not interned to be a full time replacement for a decent pipe. I have done this quite a few times over the years with NO ill effects. The weed burns well and if you can find something else instead of the foil for a bowl, hey more power to ya!
