SAVE Environment or PLAN to Save Yourself !!!

            411th BLOG -->>

        Do you remember the days when the Principal of your school used to announce that every student will have to bring a small plant to the school tomorrow as the School will be celebrating Tree Plantation Day and you used to cheer up that you will get a chance to plant a tree and water it everyday? I do remember those awesome days when my school used to celebrate Tree Plantation Day every year. I planted a small plant when I was in 3rd std and I was so happy that I told the whole scenario how I saved the whole plant in the school bus from all the students and how I managed to take it to the classroom and then how I planted it with help of 3 friends who didn't brought their trees to plant because of which they were punished to help me in planting a tree in school campus and how I planted it and wrote my name in the wet mud so that I can identify later that it is my tree and how I watered it and how the photographer of my School took a snap of me, my class teacher and principal with the tree to my parent again and again after returning from school.

             What made us so enthusiastic and passionate about planting a Tree at the age when we don't understand the uses of Trees and the meaning of Nature properly. Our parent and teacher beat us with sticks and therefore we used to mug up the whole essay on TREE and write 10 points on Trees whenever the question was asked in the exam ( I also attempted the Essay in my 10th std preliminary examination where the topic for the essay was "If I would have been a TREE...."). A small child has no evil thoughts and corrupt ideologies in that tender age. He is taught that a small baby is born and nourished with foods so that he gets energy and therefore his bone gets strong and starts growing and thus a small child turns into a big man. Child just relates the same thing with trees that a Seed is planted and it is watered everyday. Water acts like a food to trees as Trees are the Living Things and therefore they need water for growing and then the roots of seed starts growing and stems are formed and flowers and fruits are being generated by the plant and the small plant turns into a Big Tree. A child just want to see a Seed turning into a huge big tree by his small hands so that after it grows up he can tell his friends and children that this Tree was planted by his own hands and he can easily rest in the shade provided by the tree and play under it.

              But what happens when this small child turns into a responsible husband or a father one day? Why does he feel the whole Tree Plantation act as a time wasting task? Why do he feel that he is not so immature to go to the near-by garden and plant a tree with his hands? Why doesn't this Father encourage his children by buying small plants from a near-by Flower-and-Plant store and asking his children to plant the tree and helping them in planting the tree? This happens because the mind is exposed to the world which consists of all kinds of ideologies - Good and Evil. The mind easily grasps the evil one and has nothing to do with the good one because it is very difficult to walk on a right and good track which consists of no bad thoughts and intention in it.

               It was 5th June yesterday and the world celebrated World Environment Day. World Environment Day (WED) is a day that stimulates awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and public action. It is on 5 June. It was the day that United Nations Conference on the Human Environment began. The United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was from 5–16 June 1972. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. The first World Environment Day was on 1973. World Environment Day is hosted every year by a different city with a different theme and is commemorated with an international exposition in the week of 5 June. World Environment Day is in spring in the Northern Hemisphere and fall in the Southern Hemisphere.

               World Environment Day has a particular theme for each year and different organizations and NGO try their level best to aware people of their country to know about the theme properly and they accordingly help the environment according to the clauses of the theme of the specified year. The theme of this year - 2011 was FORESTS - THE NATURE AT YOUR SERVICE. Forests-Nature At Your Service-cover one third of the earth’s land mass, performing vital functions and services around the world which make our planet alive with possibilities. In fact, 1.6 billion people depend on forests for their livelihoods. They play a key role in our battle against climate change, releasing oxygen into the atmosphere while storing carbon dioxide. Thousands of activities were organized worldwide, with beach clean-ups, concerts, exhibits, film festivals, community events and much more. This year's global host was India - a country of wide biodiversity initiated the theme of Forest and its advantages.

Its me planting tree with my Maternal grandpa
              I don't know about my friends but I try little bit from my side to keep my environment safe. I know I am not perfect but still I try to do my level best to keep the environment clean and pure from my side. I switch off the tube-lights and fans every time I am not in my bedroom or I am away for a short time to toilet or to check who knocked the door. I never cut a tree or a plant just for the sake of masti and don't even damage them. I never throw non-degradable things anywhere. I try to make them reach at the right place that it goes to the right hands from where it will be reused in one or the another way. I had a mobile of Nokia company which wasn't working. I didn't threw it in dustbin in stead I took it to the Nokia Care Centre and dropped it into a box provided at each centre where Nokia pleads to all its user to throw the useless Nokia phones in it. Every time, I finish reading newspaper, I don't throw them in dustbin, I keep them in my balcony and after I collect newspapers of 2 months or more, I go and sell it to Kabaadi-wallah who sends this paper to the Newspaper's agency for recycling it and using it back.

                I want all my readers and friends to take part in saving our Environment and keeping it intact and pure ever.

                 PLANT A TREE and SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT.

Thanks.
