Supercop of Aryavrat by Mithilesh Kumar (Book Review: 4.25*/5) !!!

1794th BLOG POST -->>

I was never inclined so much towards mythology and history but the modern literature where the authors assure that we don’t get bored of these stories are very entertaining to read as the writers write them like fiction and not how our History books were written. One such book that I have just ended up reading is written by Mr. Mithilesh Kumar who is 65+ of age. Kudos to author for sharing his knowledge with us at this age. The name of the book is “Supercop of Aryavrat” published by Authors Upfront in around 300 pages. Yes, the book is quite lengthy, but I must say it is worth reading if you really wanted to read about Lord Krishna’s adventures on the planet Earth.

It is not easy to write on any such historical or mythological character considering the amount of research it goes into knowing each and every detail about him/her but I must say the maturity of author can be seen in every sentence written in this book describing one or the other tale having Krishna in the scenario somewhere or the other playing his strategic mind games. We get to know his story right from how he got his birth, his childhood, his days as king, his multiple marriages, his difficult moment with his cousins which led to the war of Mahabharata where he played a very big role which made us know and understand about our religion and finally the few moments before his death and finally his death.

I am glad that author, rather, than talking only about those events which all of us already know about Krishna’s childhood and youth talked about events which most of us are unaware about but plays a big importance in understanding the character and dynamicity of this Superman called Lord Krishna. Though author has never tried to project him as God or Lord in the book, but you can understand how important Legend he has been to give positive results to many incidents of history/mythology. Also, I liked how author didn’t spend major time in the sequence where Bhagawad Geeta is imparted but talked only about actions which happened at fast-pace unlike other books which ends up giving importance only to that section and ends the book then and there.

Another great observation that I had while reading is- author has not written this book in awe of Krishna where his mistakes aren’t highlighted. If author talks about his bravery, strategy, decision-making, courage, romance, power, leadership, respect, author also highlights his mistakes, mischiefs, wrong decisions, regrets, immaturity, ignorance etc.

Now talking about the drawbacks, I would say that author could have definitely given this book a good edit by 40-50 pages as I felt few scenes are really described more than needed. Also, through the title of the book, very less people would be able to guess that it is about Lord Krishna which shall keep this book away even from people searching for book on the Lord. Author started with a chapter which should have actually been the ending chapter of the book as it could have given an emotional climax to the book whereas now it gives an incomplete feeling to the reader in case reader is not able to connect the last sentence of the book with the 1st chapter. There are too many characters in the book, which is definitely not author’s mistake, but I believe a family tree, or the relation of the characters could have been mentioned in the start of the book for reference throughout. I also felt that few characters are not given very nice built-up due to which you can’t connect with them throughout. And lastly, I believe the multiple marriages of Krishna is discussed regularly in the 1st half of the book which irritated me after a point of time.

Other than the above observations, this book is definitely one of the good books on Krishna and I give this book 4.25* out of 5 and I would love to read more books by the author in the same genre.

Thanks.

Attended KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI - Witnessed AMITABH BACHCHAN Again :-)

1793rd BLOG POST -->>

Since childhood, I had always heard my mother being fan of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and I had no such attraction towards the Superstar as he didn’t belong to my era and had never seen his work seriously being a child. I grew up being fan of Salman Khan and then Hrithik Roshan. But regularly watching #KaunBanegaCrorepati in my childhood, seeing the kind of personality Mr. Bachchan was, I started dreaming of looking and becoming like him one day- Dynamic and Perfect. I started considering him as someone who is as perfect as God. Later, when I shifted to Mumbai and got my first Internet connection, I didn’t know what to surf after creating my accounts on few Social media accounts such as Twitter, Facebook etc. Then I remembered that I had heard a lot about Mr. Bachchan’s blog on which he writes something for his fans. I searched on Google and landed up on his blog page.

When I started reading his Blogs, I was surprised to find that he had not missed a day since he started Blogging for around 300-400 days. And when I read what he used to write, initially, I didn’t understand much but later when I myself got inclined towards #Spirituality, I started understanding the meaning behind his difficult sentences. Since then, I am one person who has not missed a single Blog Post written by him i.e. 4225 blog posts till date.

I then got this big desperate desire of meeting Mr. Amitabh Bachchan- if not meeting then at least seeing him once in my life and make it possible for my mother also who has been his fan since childhood. The only difference between her and me is- she is fan of the person on-screen and then what he is off-screen whereas I am fan of what he is off-screen as a person and then what he is on-screen as an Actor.

I got to know about one of his concerts which was arranged by Mr. Aadesh Shrivastava, the music director, who is no more with us. But I got to see Mr. Bachchan from very far as the concert was free and you can imagine the crowd strength. Still, the desire didn’t die. And finally, in 2017, I somehow managed to find the set-up which helped me attend one of the shoots of Kaun Banega Crorepati, yes, the show which made me admire and fall in love and respect with the Superstar of the Millennium for the first time. It was an amazing experience. We sat as an audience behind Mr. Bachchan and hence we got to see him clearly only in breaks when he looked towards our side and in the end when he came for photographs. As soon as I saw him leaving the set, a sinking feeling trapped me badly post which I was sick for 4-5 months. No one would believe it but yes, that was the reason, though my parents and few close friends understood the reason.

I wished to see him once again after that to remove this feeling that he is gone, and I would not be able to come as close as this to him ever. And God heard me. This year, in 2019, I again got the opportunity to attend an episode shoot of Kaun Banega Crorepati on 26th August ,2019 with my parents. This time luckily, we got the audience seat opposite him which made it a great experience as I got to see my Legend, my Role Model, the person because of whom I have been able to scribble around 1800 blog posts, for 3-4 hours continuously. I grasped the whole moment this time in such a positive way that now I feel contented that I have Mr. Amitabh Bachchan around me always. Though again I am sick since then and regularly having doses.

I still wish if I can talk with him once and share my feelings I have for him. Let’s see if it is for this birth or some other but Mr. Amitabh Bachchan was, is and will always be a phenomena in my life due to which I have been able to manage little success and achievement in my life otherwise I didn’t understand what it meant working for 16-20 hours a day, assuring that certain things need to be executed every day etc. And yes, I would like to thank #KBC team for making this dream come true for both- my mother and me by arranging our entries for the shoot and experience the biggest star perform live in front of us.

You can call it craziness, madness whatever but this is the feeling which doesn’t need any validation.

 Thanks.

Infin-eight by Prajeet Budhale (Book Review: 4*/5) !!!

1792nd BLOG POST -->>

As I have always said, I love reading non-fiction books and generally during weekends, reading non-fiction is a different game al-together as I get proper place in my bedroom to concentrate on the mentioned points and make great notes of the same to be referred all lifelong even after finishing the book. This weekend, I picked up the book named “Infin-eight” written by Prajeet Budhale. This book is published by Fingerprint Publication in around 225 pages and also has a tagline which says, “Eight principles for infinite professional success”. The red cover page of the book with no overwhelming design gives this book a fresh and sincere look which makes you pick it up and give it a try.

The book discusses about eight principles which can give you INFINITE success in your professional world and career. The non-fiction in self-help genre generally speaks on overall behavioural transformation which helps you basically with your personal life only, but this book is focused on making your professional life brighter with each passing day. The way author has divided chapters where each one of them talks specifically about a principle gives you ample amount of time to concentrate upon the same and follow it. With each chapter, you can feel that the book is going to a different level and you shall also have to up your concentration to receive the bigger message with each chapter.

When I started reading the 1st chapter and found that there are sections in between which is asking few questions and also has left out spaces for us to scribble our answers, I thought this is just another book which is trying to be interactive with its mediocre messages but when I witnessed how author makes us revisit our answers, learn and evaluate ourselves through them and rewrite them if possible, It actually takes you into a brainstorming session where you are talking and arguing about yourself with yourself for yourself. Such an incredible way of teaching us basic things which we miss out in our daily life due to the illusion we create that things are stressful and end up staying the same.

The diagrammatical representation made after each chapter to make us understand where the principle lies against us is very useful and that one image itself gives us the clarity on how we need to process ourselves further for the progress of our career. I shall not reveal the principles but just giving an overview, I would say author helps us understand who we are, what our potentials are and what is the natural skill/talent we have. Then author structures on how we can develop with the help of setting our goal and then being able to get close to it through different methodologies like building great relationships and how we can convert best of them into interdependent partnerships etc. In the last segment, author also tells how we should be tracking our progress and keep an open and positive mind towards the daily situation that is thrown upon us by life.

Overall, this is a to-the-point book. Talking about few drawbacks, I would say that there should have been more examples with each chapter as it would have made it more pleasurable for readers to go ahead with chapters along with case studies and examples. Author could have also highlighted the main quotes from the book which we can just go-through while re-reading this book in order to refresh the important points of each chapter. Except these few observations, this is definitely a book which you would not just read and keep aside after achieving temporary motivation but go through its exercises regularly to experience its impact in your professional life regularly. I give this attempt 4 stars out of 5.

Thanks.
